Troy is a historical war drama directed by Wolfgang Petersen and written by David Benioff. Its a movie about a time when the United Greek forces plan an all out assault on the city of Troy. This movie has a tinge of everything that a war period drama needs; love, honour, greed and great Men fighting wars for enigmatic reasons. The movie boasts a cast consisting of Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, Diane Kruger and Peter O`Toole. Its gives the backdrop to the infamous 'Trojan Horse'.
When you have such a cast, a lot of more is expected of such a movie. And Troy disappoints its viewers, its a long movie and the movie is just not able to keep the viewers attention. No doubt it had amazing cinematography and the action sequences are breathtaking.But if only the movie was a bit shorter and crisper, it would have been an absolute delight to watch. The costumes, the set, the story was so admirable. The film had so much potential that just wasn`t fully unlocked. But nonetheless its still worth watching, the cast did a tremendous job and as a historical war drama the movie does make a mark with just some changes it could have been one of the greatest movies ever made.
