Shawshank Redemption is an American Crime/Drama directed by Frank Darabont based on a Stephen King novel. This is the story of a successful banker, wrongfully convicted for a crime he did not commit. It is an engrossing film, its not just a simple prison movie nor is it a film just a film on freedom and hope. This is film really different from any other peice in its genre, its captivating, intelligently made and a deeply satisfying crime drama.
Thus it isn`t surprising that this movie has received so much love from viewers as well as the critics. It is the top most rated IMDB movie. The script is terrific, the direction resonates with the viewers, the cast consisting of Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman, William Sadler and Mark Rolston shine in this cinematic wonder. The movie is not just a cinematic delight, the script, the quotes and the narration by Morgan Freeman intensifies the enchanting effect that the movie has on its viewers.
This movie is gripping, powerful and has a spirit that leaves you in complete awe of the movie.
