Piranha 3D is a 2010 American horror cum thriller film which serves as a loose remake of the comedy-horror film Piranha (1978). During Spring break on Lake Victoria, a popular waterside resort, an earthquake splits a lake floor, a swarm of ancient piranhas are released. A group of strangers come together to stop themselves from becoming the victims of these deadly predators.
Piranha is a dumb sci-fi which even though looks or seems like a parody like its predecessor, is not one. With a good theme but ridicolous story line, below average animation and a movie full of sexually explicit content, its more of a lewd film than a horror or thriller.
Its one of those film, that its so bad that it seems good or entertaining. It has great camerawork, some sequences that are actually worth watching and is all fun for its target audience; teenagers. The 3D effects are great, but overall its hardly a one time watch.
