"I love you, I have always loved you"

A Quiet Place is an American post apocalyptic sci-fi horror film co-written and directed by John Krasinski. Starring in the film is the husband-wife duo of John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, who share the screen for the first time for a major motion picture. A Quiet place is about a family who struggles for survival in a world where most humans have been killed by blind but noise-sensitive creatures. The family of five must do everything in their power to protect each other.

A Quiet Place is a vivid mix of Horror and sci-fi, which takes on the horror genre in its own unique way. The movie is equal parts of unsettling, horrifying and disturbing and not at all recommended for anyone below 13. This gut-wrenching horror film is aggressively scary and way too disturbing at some moments you just want to shut your eyes as you can`t handle the sequences of excruciating pain. In a way it achieve`s its goal of being extremly disturbing and horrifying but its idea of horror is so different than any other film of the same genre.

For the first time, we find that critics have given a movie much more due credit or rating than it actually deserves. The movie even though horrifying and disturbing, in its true sense is not a horror film, its simply a pain inflicting film. The first thirty minutes into the film, there`s nothing really happening, no story is being built and its dull enough that viewers can lose interest and not watch it any further. Then slowly and steadily some of the moving parts start falling in place and the movie starts making a bit sense, but then again many of these moving parts have no connection to the main storyline and some of the sequences just fail to make any sense. Emily blunt`s startling acting is one of the only strong point of this film, while John is a let down. Even though technically sleek and accomplished, this movie makes no headway towards its end, the thrill that it creates is hastily lost in the end which leaves its viewers disappointed, upset and quite disturbed.

JRating: 4.5/10

JRev: A pain inflicting horror which is equally disturbing and upsetting.
